(Feb 5. 2015) This place was a legend in Stoke-on-Trent during the late 70s and throughout the 80s. I spent many Saturday lunchtimes browsing in this place from about 1981 until 1990 when I left Stoke. Comment: Paul Ryder.
Name Steve Brosnan Comment: I was a teenager in the mid 90s and used to spend HOURS in this shop. By that I mean the store in Brunswick Street, I believe it was in Percy Street, prior to that.
I lived in the Cheadle area at the time so it was a bit of a treck by bus to get there but I'd go to Hanley purely for that reason. Not only was it a great place to buy new CDs or vinyl but it had an extensive used section, it sold t-shirts, posters, photographs and concert tickets that often included coach travel! As a music fan it was everything you could want in one place.
I'm not always the hopelessly nostalgic sort but I wish there was a way to let my own teenage kids experience what it was like back then and what a treasure trove this shop was. Sorely missed. (Dec 11, 2016).
