Bridge Records
Bridge Records

(July 8. 2015) I used to frequent Bridge Records in Walsall every weekday lunchtime. It was run by Fred (Thomas, I think...), a really lovely guy who previously ran the record stall on Cannock market for many years (a favourite school haunt). I would very much like to know what happened to Fred. I hope he's still with us though I know his shop has closed (haven't they all?...). Comment: Tim Williams.
Name J Hardiman Comment: I used to love Bridge Records too. Especially when Jem Atkins vacated the basement and left Fred with all the dance vinyls! He sold them cheap and I got some classics! Last time I saw Fred was about a decade ago, I reckon. Years after Bridge had closed. He was at the annual Records / Music Fair at the NEC in Birmingham. Had a little chat. Good bloke. I also knew him from the old New World (Nightclub) which he also owned (with his brother I think). Happy memories :) Not sure where he is now, but I also hope he's well. Regards, J
