Felix & Son
I bought a few singles form this stall. They were a bit cheaper than Boots or WHSmiths, but I do recall having quite a run of poor copies of records with jumps and scratches from there. They also used to also do a thin freeby list of all the releases that week. I remember having the copy of the one in which 'Trail of the Lonesome Pine' was released and only later did I see it get to number one. Was it a Christmas number 1? Comment: Mark B.
David M. 'Felix & Sons were located in Derby's Market Hall, and I bought quite a few records from them from 1966 onwards - mainly singles. I'm not sure if I bought my first record from there (it was the Stones' "Last Time single, a present for my Mum) but I did by my own first record there - the magnificent "Kinksize Hits" EP. The young lad who often served me was Richard (Felix), now quite well known for his "Haunted" videos and as a local historian who is involved with The Derby County Collection, a charitable trust that's authorised by DCFC to collect & curate the Rams' heritage artifacts.'
