I found this piece in the 'Kentish Express' dated 26th November 1976: “Stephen McQuillan of Ashford Audio, recently opened in the Tufton Centre, says each customer needs individual advice on how to build up his equipment — it need not be bought all at once — or on what alternatives are available. Among the main makes at Ashford Audio in cassette players, audio and hi-fi are Sansui, National Panasonic, Aiwa and Sony. The company was selling audio equipment as far back as 10 years ago at its Record Corner shop but these were mainly radiograms, now almost a symbol in the industry’s early history.”
... and this advert for the above mentioned Record Corner in the 10th December 1965 edition:
“RECORD CORNER FOR ALL TYPES OF RECORDS. ALSO LARGE SELECTION OF RADIOGRAMS and RECORD-PLAYERS. 39 NEW RENTS, ASHFORD.”
