"Casbah Records comes to the High Street at last! After twenty-odd years of trading at Greenwich Market, London's finest record and CD stall (yes, we do say so ourselves) makes it into bricks and mortar. We are now trading in a shop called The Beehive, which also includes vintage clothing and 50's and 60's collectables. Think of a slightly scaled down Kensington Market or Paul's Boutique and you're on the right lines. We have half the shop, which while small is perfectly formed. Our shelves are choc-full of top quality new and vintage vinyl, new CDs, DVDs, books, prints, mags and T-shirts. We cover everything from Rock'n'Roll to Soul, Punk, Psych through to new Indie and Old Skool Hip Hop and Reggae. Our specialist areas would have to be 60's Garage and Psych and 60's Soul. We also aim to keep up with new music that fits in with our musical credo, especially if it's on vinyl. We have a combination of youth and experience behind the counter who love to talk about music. If you're into quality music, and yearn for the days when buying music involved more than a shopping trolley or a computer screen, then maybe we're the place for you. Come and see what you think."
Simply one of the best record shops around . . . . a regular source of the great music we play on Thursday nights on Cruising With The Commissioner (Wireless FM).

(Aug 24, 2013) The Commissioner said:It's always a treat to get down to Greenwich and wandering round to Casbah Records. Even to a 'seasoned' music buff, there are treats in store and I rarely get away without picking up an armful of CDs and vinyl. You can check out some of the gems from my recent visit, if you listen to the next 'Cruising with The Commissioner' show:cruisingwiththecommissioner.wordpress.com

Between the Cutty Sark and Greenwich Park, Casbah is one of the best record shops in London, stocking a wide selection of contemporary and vintage records. It specialises in classic 60s and 70s rock, including a good selection of progressive rock and psychedelic music, along with TV and film soundtracks. Boss Tony Davis loves meeting customers and helping them select new music. The shop also has an active Facebook presence promoting new arrivals and events.
