I found this advert in the 'Croydon Times' dated 18th April 1958:

“F. A. TAYLOR & CO., LTD. - YOUR RECORD CENTRE - OVER 2,000 RECORDS IN STOCK (The Most In Caterham). Increased supply of E.P.'s and L.P.'s displayed for your own selection. Records can be tried in our sound booths. 22 HIGH STREET, CATERHAM-ON-THE-HILL. Tel.: Caterham 4979.”

I found these comments, that mention F. A. Taylor and Barron Smith, on Facebook at this link:

“Anybody remember the shop that sold records in Caterham High Street, many many years ago? They also had booths so that you could listen to records.”
Marion West: “Yes, F. A. Taylor was down that end and Barron Smith moved further up, but did sell records.”
