A search of the British Newspaper Archive found a result from the ‘Surrey Mirror’ dated 22nd November 1968, which indicates that it wasn’t a record shop:
“G M Gerrards (Fruiterers) Ltd 165-9 The Broadway Southall Middlesex 01-574 2400”
