Andrew's Post

Suddenly, more record stores opened willy-nilly. Harperson the corner of Head Street and High Street had Sacha Distel (or was it Peter Wyngarde?) to cut the ribbon. Anyway, I missed the event but was chuffed a couple of years later when, in their closing down sale, I got my hands on a copy of the Woodstock soundtrack. A three-disc set with all the highlights of the festival. A veritable who’s who of rock music at the time.

It was Sacha Distel who opened Harpers. My friend and I skived off from the Gilberd School to see him!!🤣
