I found this advert in the 'Birmingham Mail' dated 26th August 1940: “Collard Piano, in excellent order, 20gns. Overstrung, nearly new, upright iron grand Hopkinson, 30gns. Satisfaction guar. — Alfred Hobday, 4 Poplar Rd., King’s Heath.”
... and there are comments about Hobday's and Off Limits from Birmingham Forum at this link:

“Hobdays sold records and musical instruments from their shop in Poplar Road in the Fifties and Sixties, not sure when they closed but they had another shop in Oak Tree Lane, Selly Oak, which continued in business for many years. In more recent times the Poplar Road shop became Off Limits which sold CDs only.”
