I found this classified advert in the ‘Chatham News’ dated 16th April 1971: “RECORD ASSISTANT required, 16 to 19, for Impact Music Centre of Chatham. Experience in records or music an advantage. Must be smart and pleasant. Good pay and conditions to right person.” ... and this in the 21st May 1971 edition: “IMPACT MUSIC CENTRES - Free polythene covers with all L.P's. 7in. record rack 29p. 25p off every Musicassette. Bargains for everyone in budget L.P's. Big reductions.” ... also this in the 28th May 1971 edition: “SALE - Last few days • IMPACT MUSIC CENTRES, 276 HIGH STREET, CHATHAM and 49 HIGH STREET, GILLINGHAM.”
