Name: Trauts Heytarl
Comment: In Georges Square where a lot of the buses set off from. They had listening booths which were always full throughout the day on Saturdays in the 1960s. Also sold radios and TVs. Bought my very first single from them - On the Rebound by Floyd Cramer - 1961 I think. Still at primary school. Feels like a very long time ago now.

I found an advert in the ‘Halifax Evening Courier’ dated 25th July 1958: “COMPLETE STOCKS OF ACE OF CLUBS RECORDS NOW AVAILABLE AT JOHN SHAW (HALIFAX) LTD, 13 GEORGE STREET, HALIFAX . TEL: 2425.”
