I found this advert in the 'Chelsea News & General Advertiser' dated 10th June 1966:
“TOBIAS AMERICAN RECORDS. Stockists of Early American Rock and Roll Records and American Blues and Soul Records. All at Normal Prices. THE TOP FIFTY ALWAYS IN STOCK. Thousands of Pop Records • KING'S ROAD.”
… and this advert in the 'Kensington Post' dated 30th June 1967:
“THE TOBIAS AMERICAN RECORD CENTRE. We are not just a 'Top Twenty' Record shop. We are specialists. Our main object is to supply the public with everything and not just the usual records you hear every day on the radio. We sell the old type style Rock 'n' Roll music, Country and Western, Blues, Soul and also Pop and Jazz. We also carry a big selection of imported Soul and Blues records that we get straight from America. One of our sidelines is that we have over 4,000 singles at less than half price and a small selection of 78's are still available. If you want to know more about our shop, come and see us. We are in the Kings Road where it is all happening!”
