Murray's records and cassettes in Bellshill, Lanarkshire. I was a child but part of the Saturday ritual en route to visit my gran with my dad was a trip there to spend my pocket money on 45s. The sixties: Donovan, The Move, Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames, The Hollies, Thunderclap Newman, Scott McKenzie.
My collection lived at my gran's because she had a radiogram, the kind where you stacked your singles in a pile at the top of the spindle and they clattered down to be played one after the other. My big cousin had Led Zeppelin II, a revelation.
