My Records

​My Records was at the top of Wote Street, at 2, Market Square, perhaps where Poppin’s cafe is at present. It seemed to be an independent shop though it was actually part of the Timothy White’s store that surrounded it. My Records opened on Saturday May 20th 1972; a year before Subway. Its head office was another branch in Heath End Road, Baughurst. The business was wound up in 1974. A number of the young people who had been working there found employment at Harlequin which opened shortly after the demise of My Records.
