I bought my first Bush record player from there.

I bought my first record from Nicklins and seem to remember that it had moved to the Square. A very atmospheric shop!

I found an advert in the 'North Devon Journal' dated 7th December 1950: “NICKLIN'S Offer over 3,000 RECORDS from which to choose YOUR CHRISTMAS GIFTS. Special selection of Children's Records. A Record Token can be exchanged anywhere. High Street, ILFRACOMBE; The Square, BARNSTAPLE; Bridgeland Street, BIDEFORD. KINDLY NOTE - ALL STOCK IS BRAND NEW.
