Simon Kearns was a big Dave Crosby fan, hence "Page 43".

Comment: There were three shops, the two mentioned and another at Selsdon. I think the Selsdon branch was more of a punk specialist. Simon (the boss) and Mick plus one other were based at the Oval. Peter ran the Coldharbour Lane branch. Good times there.

Comment: Being a big Bowie fan I bought a number of Bowie LPs at Page 43 when I lived in London in 1977/1978. Always pleasant staff and well versed in all music.

Comment: I was part of a band called Direct Drive, we rehearsed at Page 43 Records branch on Brixton Road. So many great memories of learning my craft there and then performing our first gigs at The Cricketer’s pub opposite the Oval Cricket Ground.
