Redifusion in Nottingham was the place I bought my first LP at the age if 17 in1959 it was 'Connie Francis sings Rock & Roll million sellers'. Although not a great LP it got plenty of play. Being a gay teenager in a homophobic world, I found this basement store a special place to visit and remember listening to a reissue of 'Don't smoke in Bed' by Peggy Lee and retuning to the centre of Nottingham clutching the EP and knowing that I was different in a straight world.
