Chips Music Box in the Granville Arcade. He had all the 78s on the sloping counter.
(August 6, 2015) It was owned by Clapham's very own Arthur Dailey who was in partnership with Colin Hicks (Tommy Steel's Brother). The very few new records were of dubious origin but the basement was a collector's heaven. I mentioned it to a couple of well known collectors and the place was cleaned out. It was stacked with boxes of Melodisc, Starlite, Island and various minor labels. Frank Virtuoso's Rockin' and Rollin' was there by the box as was Dewey Groom. Lee Finn, Alvis Wayne and Jim Morrison. Also some very odd albums like a compilation from Longhorn records on Starlite plus all the Reggae you could want. . I hope this helps. I'm sure the shop was called The Music Box. Comment: David.
