"The Record Dealer" was a second hand record shop owned by Tony Whalley. He started off with a shop on Penny Meadow before moving into a upstairs unit of the Albion Trade Warehouse at the top end of Penny Meadow (now Armstrong's furniture warehouse). After a few months he moved to an upstairs unit at the newly built Main Street Shopping Arcade (now the Ash Tree pub) before moving to a downstairs unit. After selling up Tony went into disco equipment and had premises in Henry Square. Comment: Deano Carroll
