Nick Moore 1970 - The Record Salon was on Church Street.

Steve Watkins

The record salon I remember was not at devonshire square but on church street opposite the the end of pArk road I bought a lot of my records from Peter and Ken in the very early 70s there was a cafe in the back and they had a pair of Great Danes! The sex shop by the old registry office was a sweet shop for many years a friend of my parents used to work there until it was sold and converted to the sex shop I think the sweet shop used to be called Janet's

I was a regular visitor to this shop in 1970, as a student working nearby at Glasdon Signs. We would go to the Record Salon for lunch. Always good background music. I recall hearing the Groundhogs and Uriah Heep, for example.
Happy days!
