Tim's was on Dalston Lane, right after you come out of Ridley Road market Timmy Ridley as he was known was with Joe Sinclair there and has been the mainstay of the market for nearly 50 years. Tim's Records was his shop too during the `80s.

Hi, I'm trying to track down the owner of Tim's records that was at the end of Ridley market. Tim would be in he's late 70s now. If you have any info, email address, tel no. Id appreciate it. Not even sure what hes surname was. But he was called Tim and ran that record shop. Many thanks Shereena.

A story in an issue of the Hackney Gazette from May 1971 recounts how Black Panthers were in Ridley Road market petitioning against the Immigration Bill. Police intervened, attacked one of the Panthers, and threw him through the plate glass window of a record shop. That must be Tim's, no?

After leaving my last comment a moment ago, I realized there was a Muzik City in Ridley Road--that seems the likely location of the event I just mentioned about the cop throwing the Black Panther throught the window.
